This is my go to place for seafood!! No one in the DC area can beat the size of crawfish for the price and the seasoning is to die for!!!! I was told it's a family secret and I always get **fire hot**. The owners (a married couple) are originally from Lousiana and they are very sweet. They know their regulars well and make sure they are taken care of. The place itself is not glamorous at all. Barebone tables, disposable plates and silverware. You are really just coming here for the food. I personally always get it to go. I gave 4 stars because the service can sometimes be slow as far as the food coming out and bussing the tables. If you have a party of more than four to dine in *** I highly suggest calling ahead to let them know you are coming. All the seafood is fresh and flown in daily and sometimes they can run out (especially crawfish)***. Overall, this place is the best!!! It's so good I think eventually they will have to get a bigger place as it is always packed in the evenings.

New Orleans Cajun Seafood is a hole-in-the-wall. Small tables make up their limited dining space. Soft 80's music can be heard playing through their speakers with 2 televisions mounted on their walls. Drinks are served in solo cups and entrees come in disposable aluminum foil pans with Styrofoam plates. This restaurant caters mostly to locals and regulars. Being a regular myself, I would not recommend dining in. The owners are very friendly but the service can be dreadfully slow and negligent. That being said, it is all about the food! Their crawfish is absolutely delicious. The crawfish comes from Louisiana and the sizes can get very large. The heat levels are not to be taken lightly (medium packs a punch), and the flavorful spices of their "mixin" sauce will leave you addicted (I mean it!). I find their weighed portions questionable, but continuously come back due to their savory, addicting taste. Prices are reasonable and the quality of the seafood is satisfying; well-cooked and always fresh! I highly recommend calling ahead (20 minutes) to place your order or doing pick-up. Find good deals (they come often) by monitoring their Facebook page or using their daily "Buy 5 Get 1 Free" special. If you were not a crawfish lover before, you will be after trying New Orleans Cajun Seafood!

Omg where do I began with this horrible place! Let me first start off by saying. I am a new orleans born and partially raise native. My parents is creole/hatian decent. I was craving for some creole food or some seafood and my husband google search a new orleans place out her around the D.c. area. The reviews look good so we decided to try them out. Let me first start off addressing the ignorance. Cajun food does not equal spicy food. Any dish can be spicy such as creole food etc. The difference between Cajun and creole is creole uses tomatoes and Cajun food does not. Both can be spicy. Creole food is more of a city food while Cajun food derive from accadians from the country of the bayou. I could go more indepth but i am not. When we first enter into this place it was humid and hot. Alot of Asians in the place. We were the only african Americans in here. The place is fairly small and not alot of places to sit. When you enter the restaurant you have to seat yourself or wait. Trust me seat yourself because you will be waiting all day. Once we sat down, I look at the menue and then saw the prices. The food is very expensive for its location... quality... quantity.. and service. My husband and I eat out at alot of places..especially upscale places. I knew this places wasn't upscale just thought it would be a nice local eatery with a taste from home. We were not greeted just ask was it for dine in or take-out (bad) we told them take-out and had to grab our own menu's. Again the prices are crazy for a lb of crawfish they charge basically 11 bucks a lb. In new orleans.. Florida. .ga.. etc you can get a lb of crawfish for 2.99 to 4.99 a lb. I know up north is expensive but that is ridiculous. If im going to pay 11 bucks for some crawfish, i want to see a nice ambience, central air, clean bathrooms, floors, walls, nice customer service. The crawfish looked like a knockoff. Real crawfish is bright vibrant blood red. Their crawfish is sorta of a brownish color. They charge 20 bucks for a lb of crabs!!!that in itself is crazy. The prices does not match up with the place. So I order a seafood platter that consists of shrimp.oysters.. fish and fries you get to choose 2 sides for my sides I order a potato and french bread that they charge an extra .50 for. The potato wasn't even a real red potato, they seem like they boil it and just threw seasoning onto. Real creole/cajun new orleans food do not cook their potatos like that. Also anytime you eat seafood you have a red potato. Smh this platter was 13.99 when i recieve the plate(a mini hot dog paper basket they put it in)it was loaded with fries. 1 piece of small fish (fish was good )i recieve 4 shrimps and 4 oysters. The owner forgot my potato and french bread at first. I had to wait additional 10 mins for those two items. Not to mention the shrimp we're extremely tiny and the oysters. When I saw that brown potato I was literally pissed. The frech bread was a small piece of bread that was over baked and no butter on it. My husband was shaking his head the whole time. Their chicken wings are not breaded, look like they took it out the pack and just threw it into the fryer. Your drinks come into a red paper party Cup that you buy from the store. This is such poor taste and trifflin. Again the prices does not match up with this resturant. I ask the young Asian guy for our check we waited 20 mins for it. I was already ready to go. The people there seems to cater more to their own then us. We had to wait extra long for our food and our part time waiter barley came to our table. I will never come to this place again. These people are a knock off. In the south there are many new orleans creole/cajun/seafood restaurants that are better than this place. You get great food portions, cleanness, quality and customer service. A seafood creole platter in new orleans is 6 bucks. You get super big shrimp 3 pieces of fish about 10 oysters, fries( if you do not want fries you can get shrimp, pork, beef fried rice with onions) real french bread with butter on it. These people are ripping off my city/culture and the history behind this cuisine. I feel sorry for the people eating at this place because they are not getting a real taste of my culture. I will never come here ever again!!!! I will post a picture of the seafood platter from them. Ridiculous!!!!

I went here with a group of friends on a Monday night. We were seated right away. The place itself isn't very big thus not a lot of tables, so I'd call ahead if going with a big party. Prices are reasonable and comparable to other places in the area. I'd only get shrimps and other non-craw fish items from the menu at Cajun restaurants, why? That's another story... Anyhow, the shrimps here are pretty good, decent size. However, I think the sauce is kind of watery, could use more garlic and spices. The manager lady was really friendly and checked up on us periodically. I would definitely come back here for more shrimps

Frustrated.... have been here before but for whatever reason hadn't reviewed them. At that point they would have gotten 4 stars... no frills place but kick'n crawfish. Plus a couple of thrift stores nearby and for me a place I want to return to.... Then we stopped in for crawfish a couple months back but they were out. Okay we will try again as that happens. We called and yeah they were picking up a new shipment at 2.... so off we went for a early dinner. So here we are awaiting what I hope is awesome again. But wait.... they are out of potatoes. ... seriously? While a extra cost.... most folks order the potato and corn.... plus how hard is it to hit a local grocery? Wondering about everything.... Our order came and the crawfish are sweet! You can taste how fresh they are. Hubby ordered fire hot. ... a 4 out of 5 on their spice levels and it's a killer.... so their hot is truly hot! Most were on the small size with some large. Its early for prime crawfish season could that be the size issue? Sausage tasty.... corn halves were a nice counterpart with just butter.... but we both missed not having a potato. Ohhhhh wait... staff person just walked in from Safeway. Had to finish with a order of beignets.... fried to order and covered with powder sugar. A yummy way to offset the fire still raging in my mouth. I do prefer larger beignets. Its a fluffy inside to outside ratio.... these weren't bad considering I am sitting in NoVA. Last notes.. we had also considered going to chas' n Tails however when we called there we were told frozen crawfish from California. Those just aren't as sweet or tasty as live fresh from NOLA.

I ate here around the time they first opened...to be frank..it sucked. The seafood was very watery and not tasteful. The prices are just about the same as any other cajun seafood place...so I was very disappointed. No wonder I've seen them on living social/groupon so much. I hope they get their act together and work some magic in the kitchen so they get more customers! Until then...chasin' tails, hot n juicy and seaside crab house will have my business.

The absolute worst service here- they're "20 minute" wait turned into 50 minutes. The server is rude as shit, they rolled the trash out through the room. Started closing at 9:30 when they advertise 10pm. Ran out of food we ordered- did not bother to tell us until we asked. Shrimp was like rubber and the crawfish was burnt. Never checked on how we're doing, once. Food was a 6, not worth the horrible service. Chasin' tails and hot 'n juicy crawfish (both in falls church) is so much better!

This was the first time I was here and I can honestly say that I will be back! I was in the DC area leaving an appointment and had a taste for some seafood so that's what I put in yelp...several places came up but because I didn't want to stay around DC for obvious reasons I decided to try this place. First off it's one of those "hole in the walls" and usually that is the first sign that it's a good place. I walked in seated myself and the owner, I believe, gave me a menu and all I seen was seafood deliciousness....being a shrimp & crab girl that's what I ordered off too. Dungeons crab legs, shrimp, and because I was in a New Orleans style restaurant I got a pound of crawfish...spicy! Now spicy is only the 3rd level of hotness so I thought it wasn't going to be that hot...boy was I wrong. Thank God they gave me gloves and a bib cause that God a## food was nice and spicy! I swear this is the BEST seafood I've ever eaten! Unless I actually got to New Orleans this will be the place I go to when I have a seafood craving! So if Ya'll don't know about this place need to try it out...it's a small establishment but damn that food is good! And because they didn't that've the signature beignets during my visit I got a card for a free order when I go back! Now that's how you treat a customer! I live in Woodbridge but I will be going back soon!

Living in Texas I'm use to $5 or less per pound of mudbugs! I'm obviously NOT in Texas anymore so you gotta do what you gotta do! Living in Houston there were 2 types of crawfish I'd enjoy. Either the Cajun kind or the Asian kind. The Cajun kind is what you expect from good ol' Louisiana! If you've been, you'd know there's nothing else like it. The Asian kind is really hit or miss. I've been to Asian crawfish joints in Louisiana and Houston that thankfully cost only 4 bucks a pound because it was just awful! In my humble opinion I'd rate our batch 50/50 here. Half hit half miss so it was pretty decent I guess.. I'm a savage and I was always taught the savage way to eat a mudbug. Rip the head off, suck the head out, and go for the tail! You can't do all that with half the crawfish served here. I can tell by the color that some you should just stick to the tail. That's NOT the true crawfish experience for me and for those who are disgusted by this review then y'all just don't know how folk do it in the south! (Say this next sentence in a Southern accent for the full effect) "Tossin' da head off da crawfish w'out sucking it dry's 'bout as useless as'a putting a trap door on a canoe!" Oh well. The pros: The king crab, clams, potatoes, and corn were amazing! I love how when you say "Please make it spicy" they actually make you sweat! That's beautiful in my book! I LOVE it when restaurants PUNISH loud mouths like me! The wait staff was attentive and they must have seen us sweating like african wildebeasts because they were on the spot with the ice water refills. The reason for the 3 stars is I've had Cajun food in places where you can "git yer 'gator cooked 3 different ways till Sunday" so it's very tough to give this place a higher rating. Place is definitely worth a try so please go check it out and lemme know if I'm right, close to right, or if I should go stick my head in the mud with the rest of them mudbugs.

Food is generally good but not as good as Hot n Juicy. The service is very slow and the kitchen even forgot my order. After waiting for nearly an hour, we finally got the food.

Delicious food. Love their crayfish and fried seafood combo. Chasin Tails nearby started serving crayfish from California, which don't taste as good. Glad this place still get theirs from the south. =)

With all due respect to some of my fellow Yelper friends who seems to love this place, I can't apologize for this review. Because I know I'm not the only person feeling this way (please reference Brandi K. and Jodi C.'s reviews). I think I'll start by stating that the facade of this place "New Orleans Cajun Seafood" is a joke. I can quite positively tell you that the people running this "restaurant" have never experienced real Cajun food nor traveled to New Orleans to experience the culture for that matter. I also question their ability to run a restaurant in general. I was there with 10 other people, and am thankful for all of their company because it went all downhill from there... We had one server for the majority of our time there. Eventually she had some help with drink refills. I prefer to be a positive person, so let me start with my favorite item of the visit. The sweet tea... It was served in a styrofoam cup with too much ice. But tasted good and the staff was decent on the refills. Don't let me forget though that there was a piece of hair lodged in my ice cubes, and it was definitely not my hair. But again, that didn't stop me from enjoying it, because it was very tasty!! Now, everything else. I had heard from a friend who arrived before me that when he tried ordering the gumbo that he was told "it wasn't ready yet, that it was still being made." Excuse me? It's 1pm and your food isn't ready for a lunch crowd. Seems like really poor planning to me. By the time we were finally asked what we wanted to order we were told the gumbo was ready. I decided I wanted the jambalaya and was now told that this wasn't ready, and still being made. Seriously, a second time? I settled for gumbo. I also ordered Dungeness crabs with butter sauce and sweet potato fries. Everyone's food was coming out at different times. I get that they cook things to order and be fresh... But really? I wouldn't really consider this okay even if the food was actually fresh... But when they where just throwing frozen food into a fryer, there's no excuse. We were told that they could only cook things one at a time because of what's available in the kitchen. Okay, guess they're not used to big crowds? The gumbo came out and was more of a soup broth than the thickness of typical gumbo I'm used to, but the flavor was pretty good and being that we were hungry by that time, I think we enjoyed it for the most part. Food began to trickle out over the next hour or so. Some people got their crabs, some of us our french/sweet potato fries. Eventually most of us had our crabs (again reference Brandi K.'s review) because not everyone did... The crab came to us in an aluminum container, and was sitting in what was supposed to be butter. It was more like a burnt butter water sauce. Those around me who ordered butter garlic sauce had the butter water with RAW chunks of garlic chillin in their container. Let's not forget the crab. I do have to give them credit that the pieces were actually decently meaty but they were completely flavorless and full of water (again supporting my theory that they were frozen). The crackers were plastic and like I said when we were sitting there, comparable to a Fisher Price toy. My hands worked better. After the crab debacle, we decided to give them one more chance and ordered the beignets. Should of known. While walking to the bathroom, which was decently clean by the way, I noticed a box mix for beignets from the one & only Cafe Du Monde on their shelf. I could have only dreamt they'd appear and taste half as good as the real thing in NOLA. Instead we received blobs of dough. Another disappointment. Icing on the cake. While we were waiting to pay our bills, one of the men who was preparing the food came out of the kitchen, sporting science lab goggles, rolling a large trash can THROUGH the front of the restaurant. Ewwwww. He then managed to roll the trash can against all of my friends' jackets on the back of their chairs who were sitting on that side. That sparked a thought in a few of our minds -- check the health dept records. And sure enough, they have countless violations. You may feel different about eating there once you review them. I was happy to be around old & new friends that afternoon so that a fun time could be had despite the less than appetizing cuisine. I encourage folks to try other local establishments that provide REAL seafood for also decent prices. This experience made me look forward to my next visit to Captain Pell's in Fairfax where I will gladly sit for hours and pick yummy, seasoned crabs. And travel to NOLA and/or visit other fine Cajun/creole restaurants in the area to get the real experience. I can confidently tell you, I will never be back to this place again. Next time I visit Mark's Duck House, I may shiver even seeing it again... if it's still open.

I realize that I am gonna get some hate mail on this review - I have friends who love New Orleans Cajun Seafood - unfortunately the experience I had there was pretty bleak and I can't say that I would ever be in any hurry to go there again. I was part of a large group who met there early Saturday afternoon. There were two other small tables and our group. They knew we were coming. I'll spare writing the really long - drawn out review and suggest you read the details by my buddy Brandi K. Here are the highlights - - - *missed completing the circle of orders, totally forgot someone *when they did finally get that persons order, they forgot to enter it so it was never cooked *forgot sides that had been ordered, slaw, fries and potato salads *garlic butter consisted of a watery butter and chunks of raw garlic - raw? really? *jambalaya and gumbo not ready hours after opening, we did finally get the gumbo - pretty flavorful but very thin - gumbo should be thick! *bland crab - like, really bland. - however rather meaty *plastic crackers that didn't crack anything, just use your hands *no seasonings, salt, pepper or vinegar *from the delivery of the first plate to the last, it was well over 45 minutes - nobody actually ate together *really good sweet tea *the guy in the weird goggles who ran that repulsive trashcan thru the dining room and against my brand new coat, out the front door - foul!!!! The seafood is cheap here so that is a plus. The staff is very nice but seemed very overwhelmed and had their excused down to a science. My review just doesn't do the experience justice... check out Brandi K's!

This place has some really awesome crawfish and snow crabs. Only downside is a pretty long wait but I guess that's the price of good food :)

Buy five pounds, get one free. Buy eight pounds get three free as of July 18 2014. OMG. This place is amazing. I can't believe they have something like this here in Nova. We got to meet the owner (she's the Chinese short lady) and she was super nice. We went here before and the service was meh, but the next time we went, we sat right across from the cash register and they attended to us way more quicker and gave us buckets, gloves, water more frequently without even asking. So if you want good service, sit near the cash register. They cook on order, so you can call before and order. By the time you get there, it should be ready! I would definitely order 8 pounds and get three free. I mean, ordering five pounds of crawfish is really nothing so definitely order more. Also, their lobster is fantastic. I wasn't a fan of their medium Cajun sauce, but love their butter garlic sauce. Amazing. We wanted the seafood gumbo around like 6pm on a Friday, and they were already sold out?! So if you want sea food gumbo try to get in early! Also, the owner said she would try to make us a gumbo but she was out of veggies. She says she grows them out of her garden. That's awesome right?! You wont be disappointed with this food. AMAZING!

Their crawfish was amazing! You go to this place for the food not for the service though. When I went there was a lot of miscommunication and orders were mixed up. However, the people who worked there were very nice and did all they could to compensate for the inconvenience. I will be back for sure.

Great restaurant for seafood. If you are not concern about the atmosphere, this place has better value for crab legs, crawfish, and lobsters than local joints like Chasin Tails. The restaurant is operated by a husband-and-wife team so there are no cable TV. The wife gave my cousin and me free beignets after we ordered a $59 seafood special deal. I would definitely come back to this place with friends.

This is my favorite crawfish place by far! The owners of the restaurant are so sweet and always make sure you are happy with your meal! Loooooove their seasoning and their shrimp and crawfish never disappoint! Ask for a bowl of rice and mix in the sauces and some crawfish-- quite tasty! :)

taste is good, but the service is soooo bad. We reserve 7pm, but when we arrive, we were told to wait 10+ minutes . And the cook time is soooo long. We started the first dish at 7:54. If you are not patient man, please think twice to go.

A mom and pop seafood restaurant with a focus on Louisiana style fares. The decor is simple and dated. The service was friendly and attentive. I started off with the gator 'wings' appetizer that was pretty good. The sauce was a little sweet and spicy and the gator were not gamey or fishy. My entree was a pound of nearly 'crazy hot' crawfish that were really tasty. They were a relatively decent size and good flavors. The sweet chilli cajun spices carried a lot of serious heat. I was enjoying every burning mouthful. I also had the seafood platter which served a nicely prepared flounder that was not over cooked and was still flaky and delicate along with fried oysters and shrimps. The tartar and cocktail sauces that accompanied the dish was ok. I would have liked a cocktail sauce with more horseradish kick to it. They also have a mango cheesecake that is subtly sweet and very good. As others have mentioned, this is a true hidden gem for Louisiana style seafood in the area. But beyond that, it's just a really good no-frills bang for the buck seafood spot. I'll definitely be back to try the jambalaya and the soft-shelled crab po'boy sandwich.

No frills, great food, friendly service. Fresh oysters were very good. Crawfish was excellent- and the shrimp too. You order how you want seasoned and all is very fresh and custom cooked- and cooked the way it should be- not tough or rubbery like some other more popular places cooking the same things and charging more.I will definitely be going back.

So, think Chasin' Tails, but strip away all the pizazz. You know, the funny cartoon crawfish on the menu, the handwashing station, etc, etc. New Orleans Cajun Seafood is a brand new little restaurant tucked into Seven Corners in the same shopping center as Mark's Duck House, and serves up cajun cuisine that you dig into with your hands. My mom and I came in here for lunch yesterday and got to chat with Sherri, the owner. Funnily enough, Sherri is actually Chinese, and her husband is Vietnamese, but their family used to live in New Orleans and has another location of this restaurant in Orlando, so they decided to bring the biz up here. I'm so glad that they did! This place is THE definition of "no-frills." Plain tables with a roll of paper towels on top, a simple, picture menu with all their offerings, and disposable plates and cutlery. But honestly, if you're going to be digging into a dungeness crab smothered in garlic butter, do you really need frills? I argue that you do not. Since Chasin' Tails is the only other restaurant of this style that I've ever experienced, that's all I really have to compare it to. And you guys already know that I love CT for the novelty, but the food can be quite hit-or-miss. Well, based on my first experience at New Orleans Cajun Seafood, it's pretty much the opposite. The atmosphere is not exactly high-class dining, but the food is AWESOME. First off, as mentioned above, they offer dungeness crab. Which, for those of you who are unaware, is the MAC DADDY of crabs. The legs are huge, so meaty, and delicious. It seems pricy at $18/lb, but when you realize how much meat you're getting, it actually isn't a bad deal. They also have blue crabs AND snow crab legs, so if you are into crab, you're pretty much covered. My mom doesn't do spicy, so we got a pound of the dungeness crab in garlic butter, and half a pound of headless shrimp in garlic butter. The other half pound of shrimp was for me, done up in their "New Orleans Mixin's" sauce, which is a combination of all their seasonings. I opted for that one to come out Medium spicy, which was perfect for having a punch of flavor without searing my mouth off. Unlike Chasin' Tails, where each time I've gotten shrimp it's been overcooked, the shrimp here was SO fresh and delicious. And I've already mentioned how awesome the dungeness crab was. And the garlic butter... is like, real garlic. Like, a CRAPTON of minced garlic up in that ish. SO FREAKING DELICIOUS, though I'm sure my breath was le terrible afterward, hahaha. Mmm, if you like garlic, you will NOT be disappointed. We also got a side of sweet potato fries and corn on the cob. This was really the only disappointing part, because the corn was overcooked and the fries were just nothing special. But if you need a little carb with your seafood, they also have potatoes, regular fries, and a couple of other sides. Also, they do fried po'boys and other stuff like that, but I imagine I'll only want to come back for the main catch, hehe. Anyway, as you can tell, I'm already a big fan. Sherri was so nice and welcoming to my mom and I, the food was fresh and delicious, and as long as you go in knowing this isn't a cloth napkins kind of establishment, you can just focus on the fresh seafood and enjoy your meal. If I want the ambiance, sure, I might head back to Chasin' Tails every once in a while, but if I wanna be good to my tongue and tummy, I'll be coming straight back to this place for my seafood fix.

We tried this place for the first time thinking we found a new crawfish place to go to instead of just chasing tails (Arlington Va).... It was horrible! The service was veryyyyyy slow, and the food was not great. There was one person managing the entire store from taking the orders, cooking the food, cleaning the tables, and collecting the bill. The Crawfish was sweet but not in a good way. It actually tasted sweet! ..... Definitely nothing compared to my chasing tails!

Disregard other reviews...I don't know how others can only give this place couple stars. Don't complain about prices if you can't afford it...go some place else. All I have to say is I'm a regular here and I love Khanh& Sherry they both are very kind...the wait can be long sometimes but it's worth it. Their seafood are fresh and their sauces are tasty. I got few people coming here and they're hooked...

This place is a hidden gem. I arrived slightly famished so I ordered way more food than my waist line needed but I didn't regret it one bit. The seafood platter was fried perfectly. It included four oysters, four shrimp, and a flounder fillet. I usually stay away from fried platters because they are too high seasoned for me, but this was seasoned just right. In addition, the half pound of snow crab legs in New Orleans sauce was just my speed. Perfect. Everything is made to order so it comes out as fresh as possible. From what I tried, stay away from the potato salad. It is mustard based but I am guessing the mustard was rancid. Otherwise, I enjoyed everything even the price!! If you are ever in the Seven Corners area, New Orleans Cajun Seafood should be a stop on your list.

Celebrating the restaurant's one year anniversary often results in a restaurant's cheapening quality and lack of service after they've gotten comfortable. But it's not the case here! The food is still as fresh as when the started and and if anything they're prices are getting better. The thing that I really appreciate about this place is that they cook the seafood to order. And sometimes it's hard for people to grasp that concept that when seafood is cooked to order, it takes longer than the standard restaurant. So I can't stress enough to people who don't know what they're getting into that if you order their fresh seafood, don't expect a fast meal. I also appreciate being given options! Many of these fresh seafood restaurants force you to buy full lbs of seafood, but here if you don't want a full lb of shrimp you can order half pound. They may explain to you why it's not be the best route but if it's what you want, they'll give it to you. Specials! Their specials do not limit to you being forced to sit in their restaurant to dine. If you want your seafood to go but also want to take advantage of their latest specials you can choose where you want to eat it. In the restaurant, in the car, on a boat ontop of a lama. They will not give you a fuss. It is not your typical restaurant and the atmosphere might not be the most appealing but if you're coming here, keep an open mind. In the end it's all about the seafood, right?

I came in around 3pm on a Friday for a to go order. Not impressed at all. I ordered the fried oyster lunch special for 8.50. It came with fries and coleslaw. The oysters were tiny, less than an inch in size. Completely bland and tasteless - all I can taste is the breading. They have bags of "Louisiana fish fry" at the front register and they surely need to use it (I buy it in the store all the time) add some salt and pepper or something chefs - worst fried oysters ever. The coleslaw is average. The price point is great, they just need better seasoned food - especially if they are going to operate under "New Orleans Cajun anything..."

Went to their soft opening yesterday and was pleasantly surprised!!! Food: 5/5 stars. We got to try their crawfish, king crabs, clams, mussels, potatoes and corn. I was sooooo surprised, everything was perfectly cooked! Not a single type of shellfish was slimy, overcooked or undercooked. The clams were the tiniest bit salty. The potatoes and the corn were yummy...but I love potatoes and corn! Service: 5/5 stars. The owner is a very nice lady who seems really friendly! Overall, for Cajun food from Vietnamese people, I give this place a 5/5 stars. Yup, that's right, I would totally drive all the way down here to get some more! BTW, was told the grand opening was today!

My coworkers and I came here regularly when we have a seafood Craving. It's always fresh and filled with delicious flavor. Despite the lack of service and waiting for our orders to come out. I still want to give it a five stars. Hoping that they would hire more staffs or help so that we could continue eating without stopping. It's not Cool at all when we have to Break in between our order. Please, cuz I tried all seafood places around NOVA and by far you guys are the best.

I bought a Groupon deal for New Orleans Cajun Seafood in Falls Church, Va. It was for $69 for a King Crab Dinner for four (a $139 value) One pound of King Crab Two pounds of snow crab One dozen clams Six ears of corn Six new potatoes I used it this past saturday and what they gave me was definitely not $139 worth of food. It was more like a dinner for two people. I think the food was worth more like $50 rather than $139. The store manager said one pound of king crab is usually $75/lb. That can't be true. I think the owner lied on this Groupon deal just to get customers. The food was okay though but the service was very poor. The menu prices seemed reasonable but the Groupon deal is not worth it. I would not buy any deals for this restaurant and probably would never go back there again since it was one of the worst dining experience I ever had in my life.

I met a group of friends here for lunch over the weekend. This time I decided to try the gumbo with a side of the awesome dungeness crab legs (of course) and I must say, I'm not a big gumbo fan but I found it to be very delish! I hear that you can get a large (larger that the large bowl served) take out container of the gumbo for about $10 - I might have to do that real soon.

I really wanted to like this place because the service was excellent, but I have to be honest about the food. I've been to Chasin Tails and Hot n Juicy, but this by far is my least favorite. It was easy to find and plenty of parking. From doing a little research before I went, it appeared as though it was a carry-out restaurant, with minimal seating for people who may wish to dine in; it is. I went on an early Friday evening, and besides a small group of college kids who were getting ready to leave, we were the only customers. We were greeted immediately and got a full run down on the specials and layout of the menu. There was a special to order 5 items and get 2 free. I thought that was wayyyy to much food for 2 people but my friend insisted on going with the special, so we did. We ordered 2 lobsters, 1 lb of shrimp, crawfish, 2 lbs of dungeoness crab legs, and 1 lb of mussels. We went with the spicy level of seasoning, which wasn't very spicy at all. There was more garlic on the seafood then anything else. All of the seafood was cooked well; however the seasonings used did not elevate the flavors in any way. I would have rathered old bay seasoning and some melted butter. We ordered a side of potatoes and corn on the cob, as they did not come with our special. The potatoes were huge and cooked properly, but lacked flavor, and the corn tasted like frozen corn on the cob from the grocery store. I decided to give the restaurant a 3 just because I loved the service and the food was cooked properly, but if they alter how they season the food to enhance the flavor, this could easily jump to a 4-5 stars. There is a limited beer selection. Also, if you eat crawfish, their frozen crawfish are much larger than the fresh ones.

I would be there now, but I really hate the traffic pattern over there in seven corners. I have been craving those crab legs in that garlic butter something terrible since I left! I am also a sucka for some crispy fried seafood. The prices are pretty good too. I shall return. 4 Stars!

Who doesn't like cajun food? It's so delicious! My friends and I ordered shrimp with mild New Orleans Mix'ins sauce. The shrimp were large and served in an aluminum container instead of a bag. I think it's better this way so the shrimp won't be overcooked. But the price does not include corn, sausage or potatoes; it is only shrimp so I was kind of disappointed. The flavor was good, but I definitely had to dip the peeled shrimp into the sauce for more flavor. The seasoning was just on the shells. The management was really nice; checking on us and letting us know current promotions. When I went last week, the promotion was if you "check in" on Facebook and post a picture on their page, you can get a choice of free soda or cajun fries. Be sure to ask them about it the most current one. I would recommend coming here since it has easier parking than other crawfish places around this area while maintaining similar quality, quantity and price.

My third time here the second time I almost got disappointed but once the food came it was great. Always a little pricey but worth the money. It's truly a hole in the wall type of place I love the seafood. Always fresh seafood

They don't really care if their service is good or not, because many ppl kept on coming back to eat. It surprised me coz the price you pay to eat here isn't the best price value. Try "Chasin' Tails"----trust me, you will get much better service, much better taste. To be honest, they should hire more waiters/waitresses, at least during the weekends.

Got duped by a living social deal. It's not like I was expecting anything fancy, but right when I walked in, i wanted to walk out. The place is pretty crappy, mismatch tables and chairs. The space is also fairly small. Came with a group of 4 and our meal was gross. The corn and potatoes were mushy and disintegrated when you bit into it. Our living social deal said there would be clams, but instead we only got mussels. The mussels were DISGUSTING. Flavorless. Some were really really mushy, others straight tasted rotten. I spit out the 2 I ate, and I just gave up. I can't believe they say this meal is worth $140. That would be the biggest rip off EVER. DISGUSTING. I will NEVER come back.

The picture of the clams is very misleading. Outside it shows very huge pieces of clams, however when you receive them they are about the size of a dime. Also the clerk who took my order is a little tricky. I told him clearly which sauces I wanted on each order. When my order was ready they forgot the sauces so he put the sauces in the dishes when I asked for them on the side (no big deal). However, he told me "I didn't hear that you wanted these sauces, so we give to you at no charge" I guess that's his way if making me feel like I'm getting a good deal.... Consequently, he knew exactly what I wanted: the mild sauce on the clams and the spicy sauce on the crabs. With out me telling him a second time. 3.5 to 4 stars because the crabs are delicious. Everything else can use some work.

I wish I could give a 1/2 a star. I got ripped off by a groupon (buyer beware on groupon I guess). I was expecting a 75 dollar king crab feast for two. My girlfriend and I got 1 (yes, one) king crab leg. They also threw in a pound of overcooked, leftover old snow crab they probably picked up from an all-you-can-eat buffet for $3, 3 pieces of overcooked corn (three 1/2 ears... the quality was equivalent to what you could get out of KFC's dumpster) and three small red potatoes. Oh and a few rubbery clams. Then they covered everything in grease they called butter sauce (why do you put sauce on shells?) with a canister of Tony Chacheres on the side if we wanted sprinkle on some spice (a can you can get from Giant). There was so much wrong with this meal, from the quality, to the portions (seriously, it's dinner for two - would an extra potato and piece of corn break them?), to the service (if you want to serve garbage, at least get it out quick). The plastic knife and forks were a nice touch too. I like dives. Hell I love them. But they need to do something well, give me something good. These folks gave me nothing. It was not a dive, it was a dump. The best thing I can say about it is that it's next to Sweet Frog, so you get a decent dessert while you try to forget the theft that is a meal at this place.

I see these guys are at it again -- offering a Groupon deal for a "seafood meal" for 2 for $11 or 4 for $22. The "meal" consists of a soup or salad for each person and and a pound (meal for 2) or 2 lbs. (meal for 4) of clams or mussels to share -- and that's all. Think about how much there is to eat in a pound of shellfish, remembering that more than half the weight is shell, and ask yourself if this is even a meal for 1 let alone for 2 or 4. Sure the price is cheap, but is 2 salads and what I would consider to be an appetizer-sized serving of shellfish for 1 worth even $11? I haven't tried this deal, because I won't be fooled again, and neither should you. To be honest, I've only been in this place once, and thought the food was OK, but a place that repeatedly is so misleading, if not dishonest, in promoting itself doesn't deserve my business, and won't be getting it.

My boyfriend and I went to this seafood restaurant tonight for the first time. We ordered 5 lbs of crawfished and 1 lb of shrimp to go. The food was ok (and only ok) but the waiters were rude and inattentive at all! We ordered at 19:50, and we were told to wait for 35 min. So we went out to the Safeway a block away to shop something else. When we came back at 20:30, we were told to wait 10 more min, which was still ok. But can you believe that we sat at one of the tables and watching others eating for 40 more min! During this time I was so hungry that I came to the cashier more than once but they kept ignoring me and counting their tips. My boyfriend was trying to be nice at the beginning, but he could not stand anymore when he saw this. Before writing this review I read some of the others' review, and 90% of the negative feedback was complaining about the rude attitude and bad service! If you really want to enjoy your food and enjoy the rest of your day, do not go to this place.

We went with a Groupon to try this place for the first time. Didn't eat a single thing there. After we were seated, 15 minutes went by before a server finally approached us to ask whether we had ordered. After we mentioned we had a Groupon, she said that only those with reservations could eat with a Groupon. She said that because we were already seated, they would make an exception but it would take at least an hour before we would be served. With two hungry little kids, we hightailed it out of there. There was nothing written on the Groupon, menu or anywhere else in the restaurant that we needed a reservation. They should have asked us when we were seated whether we had a reservation. I will not go back.

We went on a Groupon offering. Prior to purchasing the Groupon I looked on YELP for the reviews and saw that out of 25 reviews the average rating was 4 out of 5 stars. I REALLY BELIEVE THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO RATED THIS SO HIGHLY ARE ACQUAINTANCES, FRIENDS AND FAMILY OF THE OWNER. I will NEVER go back! EWWWW! Firstly, there's no real china. It's all served on disposable plates, trays, plasticware. Secondly, the "medium" seasoning was EXTREMELY hot and usually I don't have a problem with this, but prior to ordering we asked the OWNER how hot it was and she described a continuum of hotness from mild - which would be 1 to like 7 which was not listed on the menu. So, my date and I ordered medium, which would be a 2 on the continuum. Bottom line, it was way too spicy to enjoy. In a nutshell, this restaurant (if you want to call it that) is a hole in the wall not worth visiting and spending your money there. WARNING! DO NOT GO!! Did I mention the weird non-food aroma (I couldn't quite put my finger on it)...

I absolutely love this place! The snow crab legs are always fresh and so delicious with their New Orleans mix in sauce. Their corn and sweet potato fries are also to die for! The meal is only complete with their powder sugar coated beignets. I HIGHLY recommend this place!!

Went here for lunch today, they are not at all busy at lunch, but I am not complaining. Went with my brother we split 2lbs of fresh boiled crawfish and two lunch platters, one of fried catfish, the other of fried oysters. The fried stuff was very well done, the fish was nice and flaky, excellent batter, as was the oysters, the lunch deal is very good. I would come back for their friend seafood alone, and I am not a huge fried seafood person. Crawfish, we got the mixed sauce in medium, these were very big crawfish, the owner who is very nice by the way, said they were from California as it's not crawfish season in Louisiana, but these where the biggest crawfish I have ever had. They were cooked well. Next time I would get the straight up Cajun boiled, but the mixed garlic was tasty. The bread that came with it was perfect for dipping. If that is the bread they use for Po's Boys then I will definitely have to try that. Location is not great, but it's very clean inside, and the owner is very friendly.

This place was originally recommended to me by a friend about a month ago. I was thoroughly impressed by the taste of the crawfish, crabs, corn, and potatoes. I do not live in Virginia, but when I decided to go to the capital for the 4th of July, I made it a point to eat at this place once again. I ordered only the crawfish this time, and had it spicy with extra garlic. The good thing about this place was the consistency. It was exactly what I remembered from a month ago, which usually does not happen when it comes to franchises as small as this one. The crawfish here comes out in aluminum trays, and not in plastic bags. Unlike other places where everything is soaked in tons of oil and grease, the crawfish comes covered in spices, seasoning, and garlic. You can actually taste the crawfish as opposed to just oil and spice. I will definitely be coming here the next time I visit Northern VA.

This is hard to rate. The manager/owner is very helpful and the service is wonderful. We ordered the oyster po' boy, 1 lb of crayfish, and a side of potato and corn. When the sandwich was delivered to the table, my husband opened the paper wrapping and flipped the sandwich open to add hot sauce... it was a softshell crab po' boy. Just as we looked up to get her attention, she came with the oyster po' boy and apologised. She said we could keep the crab sandwich on the house. It had been intended as her lunch- i felt bad. Both sandwiches were outstanding! The oyster po' boy was just like what i remember eating in LA as a kid (i grew up on the Mississippi River). The potato and corn were dressed in a very yummy very garlicy butter, but i'm used to my veg coming hot out of the crab boil pot dressed as it is- with spicy spices! When i finished the crawdads, i dumped the veg in the sauce for some heat. The crawdads themselves were unremarkable. I don't know how else to explain it. As i rip off and suck heads, the juice should drip down my forearms, leaving red welts from the cayenne. There are LOTS of things on the menu yet to tried, but i recommend the po' boys--the bread is the best!

Not worth the money. Too cheap to use real plates and napkins, this restaurant served us on paper plates and a roll of hand towels. We were introduced via a Groupon for two deal but as soon as we sat down, the owner told us that the amount of food actually wasn't going to be enough for two. False advertisement on Groupon? The place was dingy and disgusting. An embarrassment if you're taking friends there.

Service is good but food is no bueno! We paid for the live crawfish but not all were fresh. I think they mixed live and frozen ones and hoped that we wouldn't notice or something. The sauce is really weird. Please note that their sauce is not like the "shebang" sauce from Hot N' Juicy or Chasin' Tails. It taste really weird. I also ordered the Fried platter special. The battered is bad and the cat fish left a really bad taste in my mouth. If you think this place is good then you've never had fresh seafood. Not all hole-in-the-walls are good because this is place is a total miss. Too bad, I was really rooting for this spot. I say don't piss off your taste buds or your wife and ssssskip it!

Had heard decent things about this place, but personally had a less than stellar experience. The Cajun seasoning itself was decent, a little sweeter than most crawfish places I have been to. We got 5lbs of crawfish, 1lb of clams. They have a but 5, get 1 free special. We got to mix and match seasonings/level of spice with each pound, so it works out for groups. Service was where this place lost out on points. We waited over 40 min since crawfish ran out and a new shipment was being delivered to the store...they told us the wait was going to be 20 min. We dined at 6pm, what I would consider prime dinner time; so I'm surprised they ran out. Requests for corn, bibs, sauces had to be made to several different staff people. The corn was ultimately forgotten. They did bring out free Coke, but that doesn't make up the 2plus hours I spent here for mediocre food. Only dined with a party of three.

We stopped in to get some steamed seafood and were very happy with the choice. It was some sort of holiday special -- mussels, king crab and Dungeness crab plus potatoes and corn. We got it takeout and 10 minutes later sat down to a feast. I'm not a big mussels fan, so I can't speak to those, but the crabs were delicious. Lots of protein and one steamed potato leftover which we saved and fried the next morning with our eggs. We ordered mild to medium seasoning and so glad we did. We love our Old Bay but this was delicious, albeit a bit spicy. Given that we gorged on crabs, the price was reasonable.

If you dont want to drive to dc for hot n juicy, then this is definitely the place to go. They are much more consistent with the seasoning here than chasing tails. Call ahead if you are in a rush bcs it is smaller and they get busy, plus nothing is pre-cooked. They make it once you order to guarantee its fresh.

My husband found this place on Facebook and we decided to try it out Saturday. I was a bit taken aback by the location. It's in a little strip mall (I pictured a stand alone restaurant or something). Anyway, we ended up ordering 6 lbs of mixed seafood (blue crab, shrimp, clams). Everything tasted amazing. The only con was that the service was very slow, but she explained that everything is cooked fresh to order (which is understandable) and that most people call in their orders on the way there so that it's ready when they get there. I'll wait a little longer for fresh delicious seafood :)

This is my first time to write a review. I would say that this is my last time to visit this restaurant. I went to the restaurant at noon to order the meal for my dinner in advance because I have a movie to catch up that night. I ordered 12lbs seafood (3lbs large head on shrimp, 2lbs black mussel, 3lbs snow crab legs, 1lbs blue crab, 2lbs clams, and 1 dozen oysters) They told me they did not have oysters as I arrived, and they did not give me 1lb blue crab until I asked (I almost finished my dinner). The crab was very watery. They told me that 1lb blue crab containing 2 crabs for $10.5. Because I bought blue crab in supermarket every 2 days. I know the crabs they serve to me is not 1lb because they are small and watery. The crabs that I bought in supermarket is much better than here. If you really want steam blue crab, there is one restaurant in Baltimore, which is cheaper and better crab. I used to go to Hot n juicy and Chasin Tails. 1lb large shrimp that was in Hot n juicy is bigger than here, and the quantity is more than here. The snow crab legs is good. That's all my experiences here.

If you want to eat great, don't go there, you feel robbed and sick at the end. For the King crab dinner for two. It was a groupon deal that seemed to be prices at 50% off but then I compared prices and turns out that it was not a deal. They marked up their price so it would look like a deal but it was regular price. To top it off the food was flavorless. Corn had no seasoning or salt, and potatoes were worst. I ended up using ketchup and mayo to flavor baked potato because they didn't give me sour cream or any topping. The butter was bland and watered down. The crab legs were ehh. They didn't have wet napkins and the ambiance was below average. The advertised price was $70 (lie) and I got it for $35. Place wasn't clean and shabby. Wouldn't recommend it. I wish I had red reviews before :/

My experience was horrible... The service was very slow and the food wasn't very tasteful... In fact, there was nothing very Cajun about the fry fish and shrimp. It actually tasted like food from the frozen food section. The portion sizes were very small and I regret not driving to the wharf. I will not be retuning

UPDATE This place always comes up on my Radar and I find it funny that once a sleu of bad reviews come in a swarm of 5 stars come in. That is a little ironic. Also to the comment they fly their crawfish in everyday from LA is so wrong. They have one location in this area and do you think they could actually afford to do so? Not to mention the place originates out of Florida. Common sense people. read between the lines.

This is my first time come to this place, and I won't recommend for you to come. I went there after 930, I don't know if it was because it's too late or something, and they had poor service and inattentive staff. Overall, the food isn't too bad, but if you want canjun seafood, I'd suggest you go to chasin' tails!! This place is not well decor, it's like a take out place. Since I waited too long for my crawfish, they gave us dessert like mango cake or chocolate after for free.

If you like good hot fresh Crawdads this place fly's them in everyday from Louisiana, can't get fresher than that! Great family owned business, don't order crazy hot unless you can handle hot , the Asian lady said be careful but I went for it anyway. If you love extra hot they custom blend a fiery hot, house secret, hot spice blend that the owner said no one knows how it is made and he gets many requests for the recipe. Well I am going to figure it out it because it's real good but a little hot for American tastes. They gave me a ticket to see Lady Gaga in row section 100 but I have no need to see this guy in concert but I would take 10 free pounds of crawdads. The big Grand Prize drawing is April 28 their 1 year in businesses. Check this place out!

No disrespect, but, if you have given this place anywhere from 3-5 stars, you need to have your head checked and promptly schedule tastebud replacement surgery. I jest. [kinda] Sorry friends, but the only rationale I can come up w/ about this place is the "cheaper" prices. I'd rather pay more for food that actually tastes good. Our party of 11 (arranged w/ the restaurant ahead of time, so this was NOT a surprise) came in sporadically & I'm glad it happened that way. There was only 1 server for the entire place & she quickly became overwhelmed. She worked her way around the table taking orders. Somehow in this process she forgot to complete the circle. She took my friend's order who was sitting right next to me, then walked away. Yep, she forgot to take my order. I wasn't surprised cuz she was clearly busy. Busy meaning she was running around like a chicken w/ its head cut-off. It didn't seem like being a server was something she normally did. Eventually we were able to flag her down & I ordered: 1lb of Dungeness Crab (Nawlins dressing, medium heat) w/ fries. In a very staggered & slow pace, eventually everyone else around the table had their food. Those at the other side of the table were picking at the last of theirs. I began to wonder: where's mine? She had forgotten to put my order in. You know, the one she forgot to take in the first place?! Yep, I was really annoyed. At this point (an hour or so later), another gentleman came to help refill drinks (not take orders, bring out food, settle checks, ect). Thank goodness though, cuz someone needed to help bail this woman out, even if it was with a plastic spoon! While I watched everyone else eat & waited for my food, a wave of slight brilliance came over someone in that restaurant. They brought me my side order of fries & a sm. cup of gumbo (which I did not order, but she offered me for the wait). This brought some relief. The fries were obviously frozen Ore-Ida; the gumbo was pretty good. I enjoyed the flavor, but it was more soupy than true gumbo. There wasn't a lot of meat either (chicken, sausage or shrimp). Not too long after this (when my friends were finishing up) my crabs arrived. Although large in size & hot, I was not impressed by the taste. There was absolutely no flavor, making it completely pointless to tell them which fixins I wanted or spice level. The crabs were boiled in water, placed in the aluminum container with butter at the bottom & topped w/ raw garlic. Since there was no flavor to the crabs from the (lack of) spices, I requested vinegar to eat the crab meat with. The waitress' response: "Oh, we should really get that because people keep asking for it." WHAT SEAFOOD RESTAURANT DOESN'T HAVE VINEGAR?! This one. And that's absurd. Not everyone wants to eat their flavorless seafood in raw garlic & butter. GIVE ME SOME TWANG! I just threw my crab meat into each of my friends' aluminum containers so that they could eat it. I had no interest anymore. Since we were heading into DC & it would be a while before we'd eat again, I decided to give the place once last shot...a Hail Mary if you will, via Beignets. Although this (surprisingly) didn't take long to be prepared, they were bite size & chewy. The powdered sugar left a weird, tinny aftertaste. This was of no resemblance to Cafe Du Monde's beignets (which it should, since that's the box mix they're using). As if that all wasn't bad enough, the most digusting part: while finishing our meals & desserts, a gentleman wearing safety goggles wheeled a huge TRASH CAN from the back, through the restaurant & out the front door. All-the-while bumping into guest's coats hanging off the backs of their chairs. GROSS! This instantly brought up health code talk & made me queasy (yet also thankful that I hadn't been able to eat much). IF you're interested, Google their health code records - there are a few critical violations. Additional Notes: -Poor restaurant execution: 3 hours into being open, both the gumbo & jambalaya were not ready. -"Everything is cooked to order" is blamed for slow/bad service. -Service SUCKS, but they HAVE mastered the art of apologies and excuses! I won't even go into detail about the stories I was told. It was ridiculous. And as a paying customer, it really doesn't matter. -I understand "No Frills" restaurants. CAPTAIN PELLS in Fairfax is a great example (card tables covered in newspaper, plastic utensils & plates, ect). But there is a difference between "No Frills" & "Not Giving a F**k"/Not knowing how to run a restaurant. The owners are not of Cajun descent nor had the training. If they'd like to keep their restaurant open w/ this type of food being served, they need to take a trip to NOLA & take some cooking lessons. Eat some food from that culture. The difference from what they currently provide & what they SHOULD BE providing in terms of food alone would be VERY enlightening.

spicy is really spicy. So if youdont wanna die, please not choose crazy spicy. I am not a fan of mussel but the craw crab is definitely worth a try.

The Dungeness Crabs are so tasty and we'll come back just for this dish!! The Garlic shrimps are full of flavor. Great finish with the Mango cake. The Mango cake is indeed awesome. Some of the best cake I have tried. This family-style seafood restaurant is casual and kids friendly. If you are into seafood, this is a must try in this DC metro region. Definitely a place I have come back to many times. And each time it doesn't disappoint.

It is Lent season so my search for seafood is on the prowl on Fridays. This place is definitely an Asian mom and pops kinda place. So don't look for any N'Orleans accented locals to run this place in VA. We ordered catfish Po'Boys and one pound of crawfish and two pounds of head on Shrimp for all its glorious juices. It is heavily covered with garlic, seasonings and butter. It was all definitely suckable (not a word) is it? My fam was happy with the Po'Boys and my lil one was going to town with the shrimp. I still need to handle my crawfish etiquette but there was definitely some popping flavor! If not, almost the same for the potatoes and corn. But it beats me cooking this myself! I would go again but willing to try others. Chasin Tails was my first option but the 3 hour wait and lack of parking was not my cup of tea. Here the price and regular hours will keep me coming. Chasin Tails need to change their hours and start reservations cuz when a Groupon expires that place goes crazy and chaotic!

Everyone should give this place a try and ignore the bad reviews. I think this place deserve more than 5 stars. Last night i went with a group of 5, we wanted crawfish but they ran out so we tried their special deal where you'd get one live maine lobster (about 1lbs but its huge looking like 2lbs) 1lbs crab, shrimps, and mussles. All the seafood were sooo fresh. I recommend the garlic butter and their new orlean style sauces. Its very flavorish! Service was extremely good, both the owner and waitress were very attentive and friendly however the wait is not fast like other restaurants but i give them props for managing to serve like 10 tables at a time with only 2-3. People should be nice about it and complain less. Lastly, as for the price .. It is beyond reasonable , buy 5lbs get 1 free!! Dont get that anywhere else!! I would defintely come back!

Crawfish seasoning is spicy sweet..which was really good..though sometimes the crawfish were kind of dry and not juicy. The mussels are really good and so are the crabs. What's NOT worth your money are the clams, for the weight of the shell REALLY makes it overly expensive when you don't get that much meat from the clam. Service was good as well. You kind of have to wait a while but that's just because they cook it when you order.

5 stars for the quality of the seafood, definitely way better than hot 'n juicy. Crawfish and shrimp were very fresh and so were the clams. The food takes a long time to be served and the restaurant informed us when we made the reservation that crawfish will take 20-30min to be served and told us to order in advance if we didn't want to wait. I have to admit I like the hot 'n juicy special flavors more, but prices are lower here and the quality of the seafood is way better so I'm giving this a 5 stars

Tried this place out because of a Groupon. Soo much potential, but FAIL. Good sauce (mixed option), friendly staff - slow/non-existent service. We were seated right away, but after awhile, had to go up to ask if we're supposed to order drinks/food at the counter. A friendly lady came to the table and apologized. Out of bud light, oh well. Food took awhile to come out. When it did, it was tasty - medium sauce was the perfect spicy. Corn was mushy, not crisp at all. We're not huge eaters, but were left hungry at the end of the Groupon deal. Had to go back up to ask for our check. When it didn't come for awhile, went back up to the counter to pay.

I had purchased a Groupon and we decided to give the place a try. The décor doesn't match seafood or Cajun. It comes across as a Chinese take-out place. The sweet tea wasn't good as it tasted old. We left highly disappointed by the whole experience. I kept saying sorry as it had been my idea. Like other reviews, I would say the portions were small and disappointing for the price paid. I would have never paid $70 (full price) for the amount of food. We love Cajun food and this place missed the mark.

I too, fell for the groupon deal. Having spent tons of time in NOLA, I wasn't expecting it to be the fresh NOLA taste, but a was expecting something fresh and tasty! Not what we got.... The king crab dinner for 2 (supposedly $70 full price), came out with one cluster of king crab (obv not fresh but rather frozen), 3 mushy half corn on the cobs, 6 teeny clams, and 3 plum size potatoes. We found out later that we were supposed to get 2 lbs of snow crab that they "forgot". We asked for the sauce spicy, which means they just throw in an obscene amount of cayenne pepper. There are no other distinguishable flavors. And it seems the sauce is basically butter and oil. To top off the horrible, ripped off meal, we order a couple of Stella Artois...that came out cold but skunked! We had to send them back and settle for Miller Lite. The atmosphere is plain and nothing special. Styrofoam plates and cups, plastic silverware. No ambiance. If you like frozen seafood meals, doused in butter and cayenne, with no atmosphere, then this is the place for you. NOTE: After leaving this horrific meal and feeling queasy as we departed, we decided to stop by Chasin Tails for a nightcap. Now that place seems great! We had a dozen oysters for $12 (a special on Wednesdays) and some true NOLA beer (Abita of course). The oysters were average sized, blue points it looked like, and delicious. Although we didn't get to try any of the other food, we will def be going back for a meal and drinks. The menu was legit and the place was packed!

Disclaimer: I have never been to NOLA so I cannot attest to the authenticity of the food. That being said, my taste buds LOVE the food served here especially the dungeness crab which is served in a delicious spicy sauce. You have a choice of spices and we tried the New Orleans mix. The shrimp po' boy was good and the serving portion was nice and the beignets were fried fresh, you have to wait for them to be prepared but it is worth the wait so they are served hot! The place is quite small but would easily accommodate a decent crowd. The prices are very reasonable. I will be back for the dungeness crab!

so another crawfish place has opened to compete with chasin tails. It is a totally different atmosphere so you can't really compare the two. This place has a way more casual atmosphere. essentially they just focus on seafood. the sauce can get really spicy, and you can make it as spicy as you really want without there being a cap. so if you like it super mouth scorching hot, this is the place to go. we ordered the king crab legs, crawfish, dungeness crab, and wings. the wings were really good. and all the seafood is very fresh and i love the sauce.

I love the Orlando location & am thrilled a location has opened in VA. I had 3 lbs of crawfish with both the cajun house mix & garlic mix together with medium spicy and highly enjoyed how the spicy did not burn my mouth the entire time so you can't taste the flavors but instead it hits you at the end of each bite in your throat as you slurp each drop of the delicious sauce. The 1 lb of headless shrimp in the same sauce was even more delicious, maybe because it required less work and had more meat. Large gumbo is a great size for sharing and the flavor is definitely rave worthy! Sweet potato fries are crispy, fresh, and not oily - love them. I did have the corn on the cob which was over cooked and soggy in texture, but perhaps that's because the owner forgot about the corn order & by the time I reminded her she may have rushed the kitchen to prepare it. Also, she gave us a cartoon full of beignets to try on the house, they weren't my thing and I told her I've had better but what I came here for was the authentic crawfish from Orlando that i've been dreaming about yearly until I can make it down there and this place definitely hit this spot. Thank you New Orleans Cajun House, I'll be back. A LOT!

I really like that the crawfish isn't in a bag and in Tins. The flavor is amazing! They were a little busy but definitely did everything they could to make us feel important by communicating and offering complimentary dessert.

Worst Groupon deal ever. $35 dollars for 2.2 Snow Crab Clusters, 3 plum sized potatoes, 1 total ear of over cooked mushy corn, 6 chewy clams, and 1 king crab leg (not sure how one avg size leg equals to a half a pound). How is this a 70 dollar value?!?! Not anywhere close. Terrible service, took 45 minutes to get the food and one of the lady (I am assuming the owner) demanded to see my groupon for payment in the middle of my meal. My hands were covered with sauce as she asked me to pull out my phone so she could redeem it. Never going back. Overpriced, terrible service, and mediocre food. If you're looking for a good Cajun place, Hot and Juicy is immeasurably better!

Dang Illysa! my experience wasnt the same...i went on Prez day for lunch...not crowded...i can agree: jambalaya AND gumbo are soupy...but very well seasoned! had the lunch special...they were out of flounder..had tilapia...lotta fish for $7..needed a tad more salt...hubby had the catfish po boy...BIG portion..overall we enjoyed it...not much atmosphere but the food is better than fast food (shrug)

This is a no-frills seafood restaurant with great, fresh seafood at reasonable prices. We saw the seafood delivery truck in the front and decided on a whim to try it. We were not disappointed. We had perfectly cooked head-on shrimp and fried catfish. You can choose the different spice levels of the sauces. The other diners in the restaurant raved about the crawfish, whole lobster, crab legs, blue and dungeness crabs, and oysters on the half shell. Don't be put off by the styrofoam plates and aluminum platters. The food is definitely the draw here, not the atmosphere or lack of ambiance. We will definitely return to try the other seafood specialities. Highly recommend this place.

My friends and I came here tonight it was 4 of us and we ordered 2lbs of snow crab legs, 2 lb of crawfish, 1lb of mussel, and 1lb of clams all together $85. Sad to say the portion for the mussel and clams was definitely less than 1lb I suspect they weigh the container in the lb too. The crawfish that we has was so small the meat couldn't even be pulled from the tail. Corn and potato is an extra $2, it took a while for the food to come out and when my friend ordered the corn the guy forgot to put the order in and we had to just cancel it. The only thing good that I had there was the Hong Kong milk tea. The crawfish definitely taste very fresh but if the size wasn't so small I would actually enjoy it. The owner was nice and she said the family owns a fishing operation so all the seafood they get is freshly fished from the sea. But sad to say after all that food we weren't full so instead of spending more money on unsatisfactory food we went to Chasing tails to indulge our seafood craving.

I went back to New Orleans Cajun Seafood because I always hit a place at least twice if I review it on Yelp, plus I'm leaving the country this week for at least two years and this was a kind of going away meal. I'll start off by re-affirming my four-star rating, but only because they really get Louisiana flavors right--by that I mean the boils they use. HOWEVER, anybody hankering for real Louisiana-style seafood needs to understand going in that they cater to a 90% Asian clientele, and their food is more accurately described as Asia-Louisiana fusion. Getting gumbo here can be a trying experience--and I failed both times I tried. They make a very limited quantity each day, and a customer will often come in and buy the whole lot. That happened today when apparently a family of day trippers to Virginia Beach did exactly that. So the boss lady recommended that anyone who wants gumbo needs to phone in the order and they will save you some. Ok, so no gumbo. I was able to try their 'jambalaya', which they present as a soup (?!?!). This actually tastes more like a really watery gumbo, so it wasn't a total loss, and the flavor was actually pretty good, but it is absolutely not jambalaya. I also had another shrimp po-boy. This time they used those really small Asian shrimp--that combined with the wrong kind of french bread knocked down my enjoyment, but it is still decent. Even with all that, I still recommend this place, because what they DO get right overcomes the many small shortcomings.

Never consistent and pricy compared to other spots. Chasin Tails is much better on price, quality, and atmosphere. There is another place in Eden Center that serves same food at much better price and quality as well. The cashier here told me the crayfish were frozen still to come back. When I got my food home the meat inside the tails were blackish blue and funny tasting. Not all of them but most. Not sure why the dark color but I did eat a few and no issues as I swore my stomach would have. All in all this is is not worth the money. You'd get the same if not better across the street at grocery store. Stay clear you will regret it.

As a Texas native with creole roots I have a great grasp on what Cajun is food is supposed to taste like this place is far from that. The Jambalaya was pretty good here the first time I had it from here so I was pretty pumped thinking I had found a good creole place in this area however the second time I ordered the jambalaya I was extremely disappointing I've also gotten a shrimp po boy (probably one of the easiest Cajun things to make) and it was pretty gross. No seasoning the shrimp tasted terrible. Also I've order a side of potatoes that were way too big, not complaining on their size just not true to Cajun style. Food isn't inedible just far from something that would come out of New Orleans.

What a fun find! New Orleans Cajun Seafood isn't fancy - located in a slightly down-at-heel shopping center - but it's clean, simple, and cheerful. We stopped in after dropping things off at the nearby thrift shop, and we staggered out two hours later after a truly terrific lunch of fresh crabs, great spicy shrimp, jambalaya, and first-rate sweet potato fries. The prices are fair for what you get, and the service was warm and friendly. If you're looking for an offbeat joint that isn't just another chain outlet - and if you're hungry for good fresh seafood - this may be the place for you.

Look, I've seen what others wrote about the groupon deal and I get it. Seriously though, its a GROUPON DEAL. The majority of them or no where close to there supposed value. That being said what they offered for 35 bucks was fair and I enjoyed myself immensely. Don't expect anything fancy decor here, all that show is saved for flavor and they do it right. Everything down to the potatoes tasted great and they know how to do spicy. Just make sure you wash your hands after. I gave it 5 stars because this is exactly how I like my dining experience, no frills and tasty. Pro Tip: Check the poster on the wall on how to eat the craw fish. This will save you some trouble.

I found this place using my yelp account because I had a taste for some seafood and I didn't want to go to the usual Red Lobster to get it. This place is awesome! The only reason why I didn't give them five stars is because of the wait time. Other than that, everything else was great and I will be going back for another visit very soon!

There is slow service, no service, and reverse. Reverse would have been preferable as it would have saved us a bad experience. Trash piled at tables next to us. Poor table service (one water refill after we had finished eating). I had to eat a fist sized potato using my fingers because the forks we had to ask for were never brought out. Did I mention that we were there nearly an hour before all of our food was brought out, or that each person's dish was brought out 5-10 minutes apart such that the first person finished a pound of (over cooked) crab legs and a few (seriously fried) wings before the third person got their food, or that the "server" was delivering a stream of what felt like disingenuous apologies to many other tables during the time we were there? I've dined many places where I have had a bad experience but been willing to give them another try sometime in the distant future. This is not one of those places.

My wife and I came in at 5:50 on a saturday night, there were 3 people sitting down who looked like they had just finished eating, and the rest of the restaurant was completely empty, not a very appealing decor, and tables had cleaning chemicals on them, not a good start. "dine in, or take out?" the woman asked at the counter. We asked to be seated, she grabs two menus and says, "come this way, I'll seat you". As soon as we mentioned that we had a GROUPON, she said we needed a reservation, and that their reservations were completely full for 6:30, a whole 40 mins later. If we wanted a table we'd have to come later around 9. The GROUPON didn't say anything about having a reservation, and she wouldn't let us sit down to eat and even said "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT GO EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE!" and walked off. Wish I could mention how the food tasted, but based on the awful service, chemicals on the table, and the place looks like a dump, I would skip this place

Pros: N/A Cons: Over-priced for sub-par food. Small portion sizes. Common items like gumbo & jambalaya soups aren't available. Compliments like rice never arrived, even after multiple requests. Horrible service.

Solid, no frills seafood restaurant located in the diverse seven corners area, both accessible and free of the bewildering hype that plagues comparable establishments. They also don't use bags. Definitely give these nice folks a try. I recommend starting with some fried shrimp and fried oysters and closing with the cajun and butter dungeness crab. Trust; they won't disappoint.

Oh god, this place is hurt. So very very hurt. Intended to come for a big 'ol seafood feast and a tip from a friend that it was 'ok' but cheap. So we started small and intended to order more as we went along. So glad we did. Because if we had ordered the feast ahead of time - I would have been royally disappointed and might have walked out. First, the service was so slow. It took almost 10 minutes to get our drink order. We decided to go ahead and place our order: starter soft shell crab appetizer, 1lb clams - nope ,out. 1lb crab - nope, out. 1lb shrimp head on - yay in stock! 1lb crawfish: fresh or frozen: are you serious?! Fresh. Duh. Seasoning: everything. Seemed promising. Fried soft shell crab was actually pretty good. Tartare sauce that it came with was pretty tasty too. (And that's why they get the second star...but see how it stops there...) Wait...10min....20min....yup a whole 30min! ...and she apologizes for how long the food is taking, apparently they had a whole lot of carry out orders (whopping 3) Food comes out, they must have boiled it in a water broth. Or something. Definitely looked lacking on the seasoning tasted the same too. The shrimp tasted like boiled shrimp. The crawfish tasted like crawfish (and all of them were black - kinda suspect). If that's your thing, this is your jam. Me? I want an assault of cajun flavors and spices - so this place is not my cup of tea. There was no flavoring! Not coming back. Not recommending it to anyone. I can boil seafood at home myself.

This was our first time and definitely the last! - in short, they were rude, lied about what they had on the menu, had us wait for 1.25 hrs because they ran out of seafood (which we had to find out ourselves) we decided to get up and leave...ended up going to Marks Duck house! Here's what happened... My family and I arrived at 615pm, we were asked about beverages around 630pm...that's okay, we thought they were understaffed or really busy.. Shortly after our drinks arrived, we ordered our meals. Everything seemed fine except the waiter didn't ask us about our sides that came with the meal. For about one hour and fifteen minutes, we waited for SOMETHING to arrive and they finally managed to serve my mom the dungeoness crabs. Nobody else at our table got their meal...we watched as they seated other tables only to serve them drinks, beer or fries! My family was getting frustrated, but they were afraid that if we canceled the order that it might've been a problem with the restaurant....but come on, if you waited an hr and fifteen minutes on ur SEAFOOD order...then something's wrong. I finally approached the mgr and asked him about our meal and that it's been over and hr, he basically gave me the run around until I realized that they haven't served a single table any seafood! These guys were out of seafood and were stalling while they sent someone out to buy more inventory! What's sad is that we had to figure that out for ourselves...if they were honest and communicated that to us, we would've been fine. But to keep us and the rest of the guests there so that they could run to the nearest store to restock without any notification was ridiculous! Obviously my family couldn't take no more and we paid for the ONLY meal that they served us! The manager didn't even put up and argument when I told him that I'm canceling our order of $200 worth of seafood! That's enough evidence that he knew it was coming...we wasted our family evening playing "Clue" on why the seafood wasn't being served at a seafood restaurant. It should've been obvious from the sign...New Orleans Cajun Seafood = NO Cajun Seafood.

This place is a total dive! I had dinner with family here a couple of weeks ago and was highly disappointed. I brought the deal on Deal Chicken thinking that it was going to be good. NOT! They don't have dishes or silverware, your food comes out in aluminum pans, the seasoning is BLAND and AWFUL! It's a total crock! Do not waste your time and money. Compared to this, McDonald's is FINE DINING! If you want fresh seafood with AMAZING Seasoning, go to Chasin Tails!

I love Cajun food. That's the best you'll get out of me in this review. I'll keep it short: Food is overpriced for the quality, service is worse than the food. Our table ordered a mix of po'boys and baskets, most of us had oysters in our order and we received none. We learned from our waiter that they were fresh out. So we customized our order to include other meats. The food came out. Mine first... a while later, the rest. They got my order wrong, but fixed it. After they had dropped off all the food, we were notified that they were out of fries also -- really? just then? We ate our food, it wasn't that bad, we asked for our check... and waited... ... (the place was nowhere near a quarter full.) I got up, paid for my bill and left. I've noticed from other reviews that service is a problem here and it doesn't look like they're doing anything to fix it. If you don't care about service, come on by and try the food. You'll find it satisfactory.

I come to this shopping center all the time when I discovered this new "Cajun" place that just opened. Now, I will be very honest I have never been to New Orleans to be a good judge or critic of Cajun cuisine, but I can always add my two cents. I came here on a Sunday and the place was pretty empty and slow. Their menu is pretty big and everything "sounds" appetizing but I decided to keep and simple for them and order one of their po' boy sandwiches. I went with the shrimp po'boy and a can soda to eat in. The girl behind the register was friendly and courteous when she took my order which was a plus, so I got my soda and sat down while I waited for my sandwich. Well, after almost 10 minutes my po'boy sandwich came out the same girl behind the counter brought me the sandwich wrapped in paper but no tray or paper plates to go with it, so I was pleased to see that each table had a roll of paper towel to clean yourself. Overall the sandwich was ok, not bad just ok it came with the regular fixings shredded lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, pickles and of course the fried shrimps. The portion of shrimp was a good amount, the batter was crispy and light and the shrimps were soft and not over cooked. After I ate I paid and left. I think I will have to wait a month or two before going back just to give them a second chance. Assuming they're still open... (not trying to be cynical)!

Good local drop-in. Shrimps were big, good and fresh. House "all the way" sauce was tasty. Gumbo was more soup that traditional stew, but very flavorful, good spiciness level. Everything is made fresh to order, so a little bit of a wait, but worth it, especially for the beignets. Solid neighborhood place. Very good overall. Kid friendly too.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Bought the $35 Groupon for the "King Crab Dinner for Two". It was marketed as a $70 value so we thought it would be a good deal, but boy we're we wrong. The place is run by an Asian family and some friends. The service was disappointing and I didn't feel treated as a customer. The food took a long time to come out. When it did, the food was served in an ALUMINUM tray and we were given STYROFOAM plates and I felt like I was at a family picnic rather than a restaurant (surprised we didn't get plastic cutlery either). There was no salt or pepper on the table, no condiments, no sauces or butter came with the meal. All of the food was in the aluminum tray and from the way it tasted, I think it was just boiled in an oven and brought straight to the table. What comes with the "King Crab Dinner for Two" you ask??? 1 king crab leg, 2 snow crab legs, 2 halves of a piece of corn, 2 halves of a potato, and 4 small clams. The corn was so soggy I felt like I was biting into a mop and didn't take another bite. The snow crab legs tasted better than the king crab leg which was disappointing. We got the "medium" spiced dinner and the only thing I could taste the spice on was the clams. You would think that a $70 dinner would be quite filling for two people but we left still hungry. The only part of the meal I really enjoyed was the Coke ($2.50). After leaving the restaurant all I wanted to do was get the taste out of my mouth and wash my hands. Will never go here again.

Compared with Chasin Tail, this place is LAME. How stupid to list crawfish as Live or Frozen and charge two different price? What if you put Frozen ones into Live orders and charge a higher price? Price is HIGH ($10.50 per pound for live ones) while Chasin Tail charge $11.00 but their everything is better. LOWER the PRICE if you want to keep the store open.

Meh. Lured in by the Groupon with the crab dinner for two. Service was actually very good and personable (1 star). Food was average at best (2 stars). They definitely boil the food, no steaming going on. This explains the watery butter in the aluminum food container. The crab legs were difficult to crack, even with crackers. Texture of the shell was rubbery/leathery. No crackn' going on here. Popcorn shrimp appetizer was frozen, which was to be expected. Watch out for the $3 bottles of Coke. No frills place with styrofoam plates and plastic cups.

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. I decided to check this place out on my way to Target one day. I must say, when I walked in, I thought the place itself left a lot to be desired, I was confused. I thought it would be a "order at the counter and wait until your number is called" sort of place. But when I walked in, I saw a waitress taking someones order; it's half a straight up carry out, half a want to be sit down restaurant. Confused because it looks like a carry out. I decided to get a Shrimp Po'boy because lord knows I love my shrimp po'boys. I was disappointed with the sandwich on most accounts. The shrimp were small, dry and not that fresh and there was no seasoning just dried up shrimp with some mayo on bread. Nothing to write home about. And definitely not a sandwich you would see in New Orleans. The fries seemed like ora ida fries out the bag, again nothing to write home about. Meh.. I wasn't impressed at all. I feel like I should give it one more try based on the reviews, but I just can't bring myself to go again.

Definitely a different taste compared to the other traditional crawfish places. These crawfish are huge and fresh.

Not a fancy place, but food is good, the staff are very nice and they certainly aim to please!

.VERY DISHONEST OWNER/BUSINESS. ...1 star thanks to the owner. got the groupon deal for 2 people (35.00 for 70 worthy) to try this place. My husband and I also order 1lbs of crawfish (10.50) and a bottle of coke (2.50). plus taxes and everything we should pay about 16 dollars, max 20 dollars. WRONG. we was charge $12.50 additional on our bill. I asked the waitress why i was charge 12.50 she didn't know she asked her boss to talk to us. The owner told me that she charged me $12.50 which is 15% tips requirement that i have to pay because i used the GROUPON voucher. YOU WILL GET CHARGE 15% SERVICE FEE FROM THE RESTAURANT OWNER for using the groupon. ps. 12.50 is not 15% of the 70.00.. She suppose to charge me only 10.50. she charged me on the total of my whole bills about 80.00. The owner try to get your money anyway she wants. She told me 15% is mandatory service charge at her place. I have the argue because there is no sign that said 15% will be charge for the service nor there is any written law in state of VA said that 15% will be charge on the bill for two people. I understand economy is bad. people are trying to get your money anyway they want. But hey, that is not healthy business. You agree to sale your deal online so people can come and try your place. You make it worse by charging extra in anyways that you like. New orleans seafood, you may get my 10.50 this time. but you lost hundreds dollars from me in the future and almost thousands dollars from my friends. Reply to the comment below.. I EARN MY LIVING THROUGH TIPS TOO. So i understand I need do my job well to earn my living. Never once i FORCE any costumer to give me tip. What i did was give the suggestion for how much tips my costumers should give. For example on my bill will suggest: tips us 15% if you are happy. 18% if you are really happy.. 20% or more if extremely happy. Unlike you. I DO NOT MAKE IT A MANDATORY THING for my clients because i am confident with my service. Furthermore, doing your way (15% mandatory tips) only make your costumers not want to be generous to tips your employees and at the same time you are loosing costumer.

WORST GROUPON DEAL EVER! I will never go back! A friend pointed out this deal and I bought this without reading the reviews on Yelp. Like others have mentioned, the foods were marked up so high. We got 1 thin, small king crab leg, I don't think that it weighs half a lb. , 1.5 cluster of crab legs, 5 tiny clams, 3 pieces of corn, 4 potatoes ( I guess I was lucky to get 4 huh?), $70 worth is BS! You can get my money this time, but never again. We will see how far your restaurant will expand with this kind of business. All the good reviews are probably from friends and relatives. The foods were salty and highly marked up. Stay away from this Groupon deal if it ever resurfaces. Another friend of mine said he went here, ordered fresh crayfishes, but got frozen ones, so don't even bother ordering the fresh ones, you prob will get frozen anyway. I don't think he posted his comment here, so here it is.
